On This Day: 106 Years Ago

Folks from surrounding counties flocked to Washington on this day, 106 years ago. On June 9th & 10th, 1914, Wright Brothers passenger planes flew over Washington Park. The J.S. Berger Aviation Company and the Flying Exhibition Company sponsored passenger flights on the Wright Model B, weighing in at 1400 pounds, for the greater Washington residents. Thousands gathered in Washington Park to witness this extraordinary event.
